If you are a working carer, you don’t need to be referred, you can just call or drop-in during opening hours to make an appointment. Alternatively you can contact your GP, district nurse, social worker or local council who will put you in touch for support.
If you are an employer, you can find out where to signpost your employees on the link above. Many carers centres offer support to local employers as well as 1-2-1 support for working carers and are happy to provide information and advice to you and your organisation. Some centres, like Gateshead Carers, also offer more tailored and practical support, such as ‘Carer Awareness’ training, policy reviews or drop in sessions on employer’s premises.
